About Winchester
|
|
Top of everyone's list is the Cathedral, but, because Winchester is fairly compact, there are many places of interest that can be visited within a short period of time. For instance, the Museum and the famous 'Round Table', the Mill, Winchester College, St. Cross Church and the Bretherens' Almshouses. Many guests enjoy the hospitality of the famous 'Wykeham Arms' pub, but there are also a whole range of interesting pubs and resaurants in winchester, many grouped round the Market square which faces the Cathedral. There are many excellent walks in, and around, Winchester - the water meadows, St. Catherine's and St. Giles Hill. Near winchester are the attractive vilages of Stockbridge and Alresford, and, a bit further afield, the New Forest and the Isle of Wight. |
