| Y Goeden Eirin is located in renovated farm buildings and is surrounded by twenty acres of rough pasture. It is very tranquil and has magnificent views of both mountains and sea. The building itself is full of character, with slate floors, exposed stone walls, beams and antique oak furniture (such as Welsh dressers etc.) Yet it is luxuriously appointed, with a fusion of the traditional and the modern. In some rooms there is underfloor heating and power showers. There is a Bechstein grand piano in the dining room. The place oozes a feeling of comfort and culture, with Welsh books and paintings by Welsh artists to be seen everywhere. Food is cooked on or in the Aga, and is based on the freshest local produce, some of it from the kitchen garden in season. There is a licensed dining room, but dinners must be pre-booked. There is a totally Welsh 'croeso' or welcome, and guests are treated like friends or family. The area is steeped in history and legend, and is an ideal destination for nature lovers. From here you can explore Snowdonia, the Llyn Peninsula, the Italianate village of Portmeirion, the Caernarfon World Heritage Site, the University city of Bangor, the island of Anglesey, the North Wales coast, etc. It is ideal for hikers, climbers and bikers. There is an emphasis on green living, with respect for the natural and cultural and linguistic environment.
