The Yew Tree holiday cottage was built in 1552. The Cotswold stone twin-bedded accommodation is built on the side of a hill, surrounded by National Trust common land and has far reaching views across valleys to Stroud. The area abounds in beautiful countrside and is very condusive for walkers. The Cotswold canals restoration is in full swing; Brimscombe Port noted as the biggest inand transhipment port in the country, is now home to a big canal boat builder and well worht a visit.

Slimbridge Wild Fowl Trust on edge of River Severn, Stroud Musuem (Free), Gloucester Docks -sometimes tall ships come sailing in - Rococo Gardens in Painswick, Westonbirt Arboretum, Berkely Castle where Kind Edward 11 met his tragic end, Stroud Farmers Market every Saturday.

From M5 exit 13 drive east via Stroud. Brimscombe is 2 miles weast of Stroud on A419. On reaching Brimscombe turn right up hill (Ship Inn at bottom just as you turn and serves reasonably priced food). The Yew Tree is about 300m up on the right just as hill levels out.
