You could be staying in one of the many character filled rooms at Penbontbren. All rooms are "en-suite" and combine those little extras that make any stay more comfortable
Penbontbren Hotel is set amongst the magnificent scenery of West Wales, in the county of Ceredigion. Surrounded by 90 acres of lush green countryside we are only 2.5 miles to the beautiful Welsh coastline. You will find our position makes us the ideal holiday location to explore Wales and search out local beauty spots.

We ideally situated for a fishing, cycling or golfing holiday as we are close to several golf courses including a traditional seaside links course and parkland course.

There is good sea and river fishing to be had in the area as well as beautiful walks and cycle paths.

Penbontbren has two rooms especially designed to be friendly for our guests in wheelchairs. You may park directly outside the doors to these rooms, and each room is accessed on the flat with no stairs or slope to hinder your movement. The doors are extra wide to be comfortable for our disabled guests

Things To Do

Penbontbren is very close to great fishing opportunities, there are plenty of award-winning beaches nearby. There are also a trout farms as well as plenty of river fishing for example: We have one of only two resident schools of bottle nosed dolphins in the UK dwelling in Cardigan Bay year round, so plenty of opportunity for dolphin watching. You may also spot grey seals on the rocks or in the sea at one of the beaches close to the hotel. Harbour porpoises feeding on mackerel or herring are also often seen here. This area is full of wildlife and birds of prey fly happily round the neighbourhood, we regularly spot Red Kites, Goshawks and Peregrine falcons. We are close to many scenic magical wild places were unusual birds are often spotted. We are close to the Ceredigion Coastal Path, and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path: so there are coastal, cliff walking as well as vast areas of mountain and moor land - and many beautiful wooded valleys to explore.

Directions

From the South of England take the M4 motorway all the way, across into Wales and continue
towards Carmarthen. From Carmarthen take the A484 to Newcastle Emlyn. From Newcastle Emlyn
take the B4333 for Aberporth. Turn right onto the A487, which is the main south to north coast
road of Wales. Go north for approximately one mile to a village called Tanygroes, then take the
2nd right 1 mile after Tanygroes signposted Penbontbren.
Travelling south from Aberystwyth on the A487, take the first left after Sarnau signposted
Penbontbren.
