Brecon Castle Hotel
| With the tower and walls of Brecon Castle located in its gardens, Brecon Castle Hotel is a heritage hotel of great charm and character. It first opened as a coaching inn in the late seventeenth century, becoming the first modern hotel of its kind in Wales after a complete rebuild in 1809. This late Regency hotel enjoys the best of both worlds – it has the look and feel of a quiet country house hotel but being located in private grounds on a prominent hill in the centre of Georgian Brecon town and enjoying beautiful riverside lawns and extensive views over the river Usk and up to the Brecon Beacon mountains. There is ample and free off-road parking for guests.
Privately owned and family run, the hotel combines a friendly atmosphere with efficient service and excellent, locally-sourced food in its cosy AA Rosette restaurant. Private dining rooms are available for conference and business parties. Facing southwards towards the mountains, the restaurant is an ideal place to relax and enjoy a gourmet meal at the end of the working day. The hotel has two large bars serving traditional pub food and local beers and ciders. We are members of the Just Ask and Slow Food campaigns.

Directions
| From Southern England via the Severn Crossing...Leave the M4 at junction 24, and follow the signs towards Monmouth (A449) and Abergavenny (A40). After about 14 miles branch left at Raglan to join the A40 to Abergavenny and then to Brecon. From the Midlands and North...Take the M5 and then the M50 to Ross-on-Wye. This road becomes the A449. Go to Monmouth and 9 miles past, branch right at the A40 to Abergavenny and on to Brecon. The simplest way to find us approaching the town is from the Southern roundabout, where the A470 meets the A40. Follow the signs to the town centre, continue for about a mile. After crossing the bridge over the river Usk at the traffic lights turn immediately left, signposted towards Cradoc, and after 200 metres turn right, into Castle Square. You will see the hotel and the castle from the bridge as you cross the river Usk. It's quite a landmark |
