Whether you need an accommodation base for touring, fishing or a quiet hideaway for a Gretna wedding, we are ideally located to explore the beautiful and scenic area. Just off the A7 tourist route from Carlisle to Edinburgh, there are two excellent restaurants nearby where you can sample local Scottish produce and hospitality.

Canonbie in Dumfries & Galloway is an ideal location to explore the beautiful and scenic area of southern Scotland, whether walking, touring or cycling throughout Dumfriesshire, the Esk Valley and into the Scottish Borders. The Border Esk, one of Scotland’s finest salmon and sea trout rivers is only a short walk from North Lodge B&B. Daily or weekly fishing permits are available and we'd be delighted to prepare packed lunches on request There's fantastic opportunities for cyclists and walkers with short and long routes throughout the area, we can help prepare you for a day's activities by providing an excellent Scottish breakfast to set you up for the day.

Directions

From the south:
Exit Junction 44 off M6 (A7 Galashiels, tourist route to Edinburgh) and take the third exit ‘A7’ which will take you through Longtown. Follow the road and continue north till you see a sign on the border ‘Scotland welcomes you’ and turn immediately right signposted B7201 Canonbie. North Lodge is situated approximately 500 yards along this road on the left hand side. You will see our sign at the end of the drive.
From the north
From Edinburgh direction: Head south on the A7 and take the second exit (B7201) into Canonbie. North Lodge is situated approximately 500 yards along this road on the left hand side. You will see our sign at the end of the drive.
