Things To Do
|
| The Isle of Bute, although well connected by public transport to Glasgow Airport, is unspoilt by modern development, there are few cars, open countryside, lost coves and beaches, wild deer, hares, seals and bird-life. It makes for a good outdoor holiday: sea-fishing and angling, sailing, hiking, hill-climbing,
horse-riding, cycling, golf on four courses, exploring and hunting, seal watching and bird-spotting, or simply chilling out amidst truly stunning scenery. Swimming is for the brave! |

Directions
|
| The Isle of Bute lies in the mouth of The River Clyde, north of Arran and south of Argyll. The main ferry leaves from Wemyss Bay (prounced "weems") on the A78 coast road between Greenock and Largs, ferry time 35 minutes. Ferries leave every 45 minutes. On arrival at Rothesay turn right i.e. north along the coast road, and after 2 miles you arrive at the yacht bay of Port Bannatyne, a stone-built village mostly two hundred years old. The hotel is right in front of the pier. |
