Things To Do
|
| Yoga and meditation classes, guided walks and cycle rides, cycle hire. Nearby are local attractions: the Shin Falls, where you can see leaping salmon, and there is a Harrods gift shop and restaurant, Rosehall Trails with children's wildwood walk, the impressive Ravens Rock Gorge, listed by the Forestry Commission as one of the top ten forest walks in the UK, Achness Falls, just as good as Shin, but less well-known, and the Achness Hotel for a bite to eat. Slightly further away there is Lairg with plentty of historical interest and the Countryside Centre, towards Ullapool you can stop off to walk to the "bone caves" and Knockan Cragg nature reserve. To the east is historic Dornoch and Loch Fleet nature reserve where you can see seals. Further north there are interesting archaeological sites and of course there's John O' Groats. |

Directions
|
| FRom Inverness by road, take the A9 and turn off at the Skiatch Service Station onto the B9176. Continue to the juntion with the A836 passing through Bonar Bridge. Turn left onto the A836 signposted Lairg. Proceed through Invershin and turn left sign posted Rosehall. Follow the road along the river to the junction with the A839 to Lairg. Turn right onto this road and Woodland is the first house on the right. |
