| Miltown House offers modern, comfortable accommodation within a new extension to the old part of the house which dates back into the 1800’s.
At Miltown we are determined to ensure that you not only thoroughly enjoy your visit to our beautiful countryside but also very much enjoy your stay in our friendly home.
All rooms are modern, comfortable and offer en suite facilities together with central heating, double glazing, twin beds, electric blanket, hair dryer, tea & coffee making tray with biscuits, piped television and both a house and local information pack, etc.
All water drawn from the taps at Miltown House is provided by a natural spring of high purity. Enjoy!
Stunning views from any window are an additional free benefit! Set amidst majestic rolling hills & glens and surrounded by wildlife, Miltown House lies in the heart of Malt Whisky Country and is a natural haven. Look carefully and you may be rewarded with sight of deer on the hills opposite, heron landing and taking off by the nearby burn, pheasant, grouse or other game, rabbits 'wild' in the garden grounds, Goldfinch, Woodpecker, Siskens, Doves, etc., - even pony trekkers!
Numerous attractions ensure there is always lots to see and do for both young and old alike, whatever interests you pursue.
In Summer the hills & glens are alive with nature’s own soloist’s and choirs. In winter our local ski slopes, (although not quite world class!!) provide lots of fun when it snows! Why not come and experience the magic yourself....!
We want every guest who stays at Miltown House to depart feeling refreshed, renewed, at one with nature and thoroughly relaxed. This means you! The aim of your hosts, Jo & Bill, is to ensure that you enjoy your stay with us as much as possible.
Each morning you will feast on a hearty breakfast of quality home cooked food, tastefully prepared in our spotlessly clean country kitchen then presented to you in our bright, airy dining room. Depending on the season and availability some of the food on your plate may well have been produced in our very own greenhouses and garden combining real freshness with the fullest of flavour.
Coffee and tea is available with fresh chilled juice & cereals to ensure that all tastes are catered for.
With its stunning views over the nearby hills the dining room is the perfect accompaniment to any meal. You will not leave our table hungry or disappointed! Come and experience total relaxation at its best!
Should you have any special needs we will try to accommodate these as best we can. Please let us know as soon as possible.
Should you wish a vegetarian friendly meal please mention this as early as possible to ensure the freshest ingredients are made available.
For a small additional charge a number of various extra services are available in-house should they be required by our guests. These services include; Small laundry wash. Ironing. Flask fills. Pack up’s (snack). Chilled soft drinks. Certain motor and bicycle essentials!
Note:
Evening meals are not provided however meals are available until aprox. 6 p.m.* at our local Inn just a gentle walk’s distance from Miltown House. With its friendly service and delicious home cooked food we happily recommend this Inn to one and all.

Directions
|
| From Inverness or Aberdeen follow A96 to Huntly. At Huntly turn off the A96 onto the A920 Dufftown road (opposite Tesco). Follow for approx. 9 miles. Turn left at hilltop towards Haugh of Glass. Follow to staggered cross roads with war memorial. Turn left & follow for approx. 5 miles or so. At the bottom of long hill you will see an unmarked road to your left. Go past this road & just after it you will arrive at Miltown House on your left.
Alternate route from Aberdeen - Follow A944 to Alford / Bridge of Alford / Lumsden. Aprox. 1 mile futher on turn left onto B9002. Follow aprox. 5 miles to A941 'T' junction. Turn left to The Cabrach & Dufftown. Follow aprox. 4 miles to Grouse Inn . Half mile after turn right (or right at next junction if you miss this one). Follow to 'Y' junction. Straight on a few yards to Miltown on right. |
