Balmeanach House

| Balmeanach House is set in a peaceful, crofting glen on the north-west coast of Skye, near to the famous Dunvegan Castle. The House was built at the turn of the last century and has been sympathetically renovated keeping the character, whilst provided modern luxurious comfort. The house has full central heating with the additional charm of a large fireplace where a log and peat fire encourages our guests to linger and dream. We have a large garden which is open to the public, on occaision, for SGS. charity but is there for our guests to enjoy at any time! The Glen boasts a wealth of wild-life; Buzzards and Eagles fly over the House and an Otter was seen in the Burn running through the garden! There are Red Deer further up the hill and small birds love the garden. Breakfasts are a veritable feast of local produce, including smoked salmon, haddock, or kippers. Bacon, eggs, hand made sausages and the famous 'strornaway black pudding'. Real highland porridge is a firm favourite! Just come and let us spoil you! |

Things To Do
|
| The Isle of Skye is perfect for walkers, hill-walkers and serious climbers alike. From a gentle stroll up the glen to see the water-falls, or a challenging climb of the famous Cuillin Mountains, with every conceivable 'in-between' this is the place! Many out-door pursuits are available, from canoeing to Diving, fishing to shooting. Let us know your preference and we'll do our best to arrange contacts for you. We are situated in an enviably central spot for the Talisker Distillery, Dunvegan Castle, with it's famous Seal Colony (not to be missed) The Glendale Toy Museum charms young and old alike and the Neist Point is only a short drive further on. The Three Cimneys Restaurant is on so many peoples itinary that you need to book early and we have many more places where you can eat the Very Best of Scottish produce! |

Directions
|
| From the South. Once on the main A87, travel North until Sligachan, where you turn left, following the signpost for Dunvegan. Just stay on that road for approx. 19 miles, until you see Balmeanach signposted as a turning on your right.(we have our B&B sign at the end of the road.) Just drive up the single track road until you see our next sign at the bottom of our drive. It's easy! |
