Our home is located in a fine elevated position overlooking the sweeping lawn with splendid far reaching views across open countryside. On the edge of The Lake District National Park, just three miles north of the market town of Kendal, it provides an ideal base for exploring the lake district and walking with an excellent range of amenities close at hand.
Thorny Bank House offers three large beautifully furnished ensuite bedrooms. Choose from King Size or Twin all with excellent facilities for your comfort & relaxation
Unwind in the comfortable lounge before retiring to your room to enjoy a restful night’s sleep in a soft and sumptuous bed.
Awake next morning and enjoy a delicious home cooked breakfast whilst taking in the views of the Cumbrian countryside.

We provide ample off road parking in our private grounds for all our guests.
To all our guests please note Thorny Bank House closes early November through February.

Directions

Exit M6 at jct. 36, take 1st exit onto A590 signposted Kendal. Join A591 and take the A6 (signposted 'South Kendal'). On reaching the town centre, join the one way system and keep to the right hand lane. Turn right into Lowther St bear left keeping in the left hand lane going into BlackHall Rd follow signs for A6 Penrith. continue to follow the A6 Penrith into the countryside for approximately 3 miles. Thorny Bank House is sign-posted on the left hand side. Turn into the long driveway/track. At the bottom car parking is at the left for Thorny Bank Guests.
NB: PLEASE DO NOT FOLLOW ANY SIGNS FOR GARTH ROW FROM ANY ROUTE MAPS OR SATELLITE NAVIGATION SYSTEM
FROM THE NORTH;
Exit M6 at jct. 37 and follow the A684 signposted to Kendal. On reaching Kendal, follow the one way system signposted A6 Lancaster. Continue to follow the A5284 Windamere into the town, turning left at the Brewery Arts Centre then follow as above.
